1 Day Assessment

Individuals who have completed formal CP training since 1st January 2002, as listed on the SIA website and have remained in an operational CP role, will be exempt from further training but will be required to take the knowledge test and a practical skills assessment. Training exemptions currently listed are the RMP CP Course, 22-SAS BG Course, Metropolitan Police Royalty Protection / Special Branch CP Course, Police National CP Courses (including NI), Phoenix CP Ltd CP Course and The Nemesis Group Ltd Protective Security Course. Examination papers are externally marked by the awarding body (BCUC) and results notified in the form of a certificate. Details of those that successfully pass the examination will also be electronically up-loaded to the SIA. Candidates that fail the exam will be required to attend a Refresher & Assessment Course (Option2) or a full 4-week approved course (less medical if appropriate). Individuals not familiar with current terminology or require updating in respect of the mandatory requirements are advised to choose Option 2 in the first instance.
