Description :

We are working with an associate recruitment company
who has offices in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and Dublin.  Their client is a well-established electrical
contractor who is based in New Zealand and operates in the energy, power
distribution and utilities industries.

They are currently seeking an Electrical Line
Mechanic.  The initial contract is for 6
months.

You will be carrying out the construction of electrical networks and the maintenance of
overhead electrical networks.

The position is offered initially on a 6 month contract. Thereafter new contracts
can be offered and if you wish to stay in New Zealand, the end client will
offer sponsorship.

Knowledge and Skills:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in successfully carrying out
the construction of and maintenance of overhead electrical networks.

You should have a good understanding of network protection.

You should have the relevant line mechanic registration and practising licence.

Ideally you will have live line certification to glove and barrier levels.

You should have relevant unit standards competencies and have current network
permit holder certificates.

You will possess effective and efficient communication skills

You should have a good knowledge of safety procedures and practices.

You should be able to work independently and unsupervised and within a team environment.

You must be physically fit.

You must have a full lean Driver’s Licence – equivalent to New Zealand levels 2 and 4

Rates of pay will vary
depending on experience (NZ$ 30 – 32 per hour). 

Sponsorship opportunity will be available to the successful candidates.

Candidates other than from New Zealand must be available to travel on a working holiday visa and have
a minimum of 6 months unexpired time on an existing working holiday visa or
alternatively able to gain a working holiday visa to New Zealand.

If successful, candidates will have to pay their own
costs of getting across to New Zealand i.e. 
visa £85, flights approx. £800, possibly cheaper and also pay for their
own accommodation.

The end client will assist candidate’s secure
temporary accommodation for the first few weeks after they arrive and will also
assist getting bank accounts and tax numbers set up.

and flight costs and initial accommodation costs
