Description :
An Airport Operating Surfaces (AOL) Supervisor is required by this global engineering organisation .
The AOL Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of (min 25) personnel in a construction sector within an arduous environment.
This is a contract position which is anticipated to last until December 2014. The base salary is tax free and will be complimented by a generous uplift of circa 77% (DOE) bringing total salary to circa £53k.
Key Responsibilities:
*Experience of managing a team to work to safe practise procedures with regards to maintenance of air operations surfaces
*Responsible for checking all relevant documentation is in order for access to sites for relevant teams
*Compile relevant Risk Assessments and respective mitigation Method Statements
*Oversee the assigned tasks are completed within the client standards and requirements
*Ensuring the appropriate QA/QC and technical documentation is applied to and enforced on the various assigned tasks
*Ensure that all maintenance tasks (scheduled and reactive) on the airfield are carried out appropriately and to the highest standards.
*Deputise for the Airfield Maintenance Manager where necessary
*Providing guidance on codes of practice, BS EN standards and best practice
*Ordering and correctly identifying materials to enable procurement via the Logistic & Procurement SRS system
*Conducting airfield inspections and compiling relevant reports
*Have proven experience of working on and repairing, ramps and parking areas, throats, taxiways and runways
*Have proven experience in repairing and restoring all AOS surface types including concrete, asphalt, metal, composite airfield matting (AM2), gravel, soil etc
*Be able to run a department of AOS sweepers
Experience and Qualifications
*Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND equivalent in Civil Engineering
*Site based supervisory experience of at least 25 staff
*Proven experience of supervising a team of plant operators, runway repair engineers and AOS cleaning teams
*Knowledge and practical experience of maintenance, construction and repair or all types of airfield operating surfaces.
*Experience of working within an environmentally constrained regime
Preferred:
*Be familiar with NATO, ICAO and ISO terminology
*Experience of working on operations in austere remote sites or in developing nations
*Familiar with or have experience of US airfield regulations
