Description :

Our client is a specialist nationwide foodservice distributor who has recently widened its operations to become a multi-temperature delivered wholesaler to the catering and hospitality sector. Operating across the country including Scotland it is expanding its sales force and is creating a number of National Account Manager positions.

 

Candidates are now invited to express an interest in these home based positions. The positions are permanent.

 

 

As a National Account Manager, you will embrace our clients culture, maximise opportunities and develop new revenue streams.

 

You will prepare and implement a long term business development plan for all your prospect accounts from a zero base and gain both internal and client acceptance and commitment to the plan.

 

It is essential to create a seamless interface between our client and their client.

 

You will be responsible for the production and presentation of tenders, assist and advise in all aspects of menu planning and recipe development, and produce forecasts where required for ongoing, promotional and seasonal business.

 

In addition, you will be responsible for the communication of all account activity to our client`s depots and other functions, as appropriate, including working with our clients senior management team.

 

You will organise and provide customer statistics where required, develop and build on a prospect database, and liaise with those targeted accounts ultimately resulting in award of new business.

 

Your key accountabilities will include reporting on competitor activity and market intelligence and managing cost budgets within the agreed levels whilst achieving and exceeding profit and margin targets.

 

Finally you will also be responsible for the maintenance of contracts and agreements including the commercial viability of each managed account.

Knowledge and Skills:

Successful candidates will be experienced Regional and / or National Account Managers with experience having been gained with a delivered foodservice wholesaler.

You will have a thorough, in-depth knowledge of client, market and sector trends specific to major brands operating in hotels, restaurants, pub groups, leisure etc

Highly developed analytical skills are essential, as are well developed IT/ PC skills (including Excel), and you must be able to interpret data and information in various formats.

You will be numerate, have excellent presentation and communication skills, be able to communicate at all levels, and be decisive, assertive and persuasive.

You will be innovative and demonstrate originality and creativity in solving problems and meeting the needs of the clients and the sector.

You will enjoy a high level of autonomy and therefore must be highly self-motivated to achieve agreed goals.

You will have strong negotiating skills and able to manage your own time effectively.

You will have the ability to develop and communicate sound commercial arguments, and have a thorough understanding of the cost drivers and their impact on our clients opera
