We are acting as a second tier recruitment supplier to a UK focussed recruitment consultancy and solutions provider specialising in technology. They work with organisations of all sizes to deliver recruitment solutions that improve and enhance their clients access to the skills and resource they are looking for.
Their client is a leading IT systems, services and products company employing 11,400 people with an annual revenue of £1.7 billion. Its business is in enabling its customers to realise their objectives by exploiting information technology through its integrated product and service portfolio. This includes consulting, applications, systems integration, managed services and product for customers in the private and public sectors including retail, financial services, telecoms, and government, defence and consumer sectors.
They are seeking a UNIX / Linux Designer to be based at a site in Hampshire.
The position is permanent. All candidates must hold current Security Clearance to SC level or be willing and eligible to undergo the process (which requires a minimum of 5 years permanent residency in the UK).
As a UNIX / Linux Designer you will work in a customer facing team supporting the delivery of multiple secure solutions - specifically assuring accreditation from design to delivery.
You will act as a Subject Matter Expert in Linux/Unix technologies.
You will build service proposals including solution documentation, cost modelling and risk management.
You will provide Technical / Service leadership to the team.
You will use appropriate methods and tools e.g. ITIL, Cobit etc.
You will provide security leadership and guidance on controls / implementation / process improvement.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished UNIX / Linux Designer to the extent that you can be regarded as a Subject Matter Expert on UNIX and Linux.
You will have extensive service architecture experience.
You will be capable of building service proposals including solution documentation, cost modelling and risk management.
You will possess well developed communication skills and well developed consulting skills.
You will possess good customer and business orientation and excellent Technical / Service leadership skills.
You will be an expert in use of chosen methods and tools e.g. ITIL, Cobit etc.
You will be experienced in most areas of the service lifecycle .
You will be well versed in providing security leadership & guidance on controls / implementation / process improvement.
You will possess Defence Security Expertise and stakeholder management experience.
You will possess excellent communication skills / customer engagement skills.
You will have excellent time management and prioritisation skills, able to maintain strategic perspective while undertaking complex and detailed work, with proven ability to deliver results within agreed timescales and to work within tight timeframes.
