Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for being part of the team covering a variety of mechanical installation, repair and servicing work to the clients bespoke systems and equipment. - Attending sites to undertake installations of fabricated steel works including stair cases, handrails and steel structures. - Strip down and report machinery as and when required. - Installation and repair of pumps, valves and mechanical drives. - Responsible for reading and understanding engineering drawings. - Working to tight deadlines. - Liaise with other engineers and management. - Order new parts and then install them. - Ensure that machinery is working to the best of its ability. - Use a methodical approach to preparation of systems for site installations. - Operate fork lift truck to load and unload goods when required, training to be provided.
Applicant Requirements:
- The successful candidate must have a strong mechanical engineering background and will hold a recognised qualification (i.e. NVQ, City & Guilds) in a relevant engineering discipline. - IOSH Working Safely and/or Thames Water Safety Passport. - Confined space trained. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. - Good knowledge of site procedures and health and safety requirements. - Basic welding and fabrication skills would be beneficial. - Previous knowledge of repairing screening handling equipment for sewage works would be advantageous. - Enjoy working as part of a team on site. - Willing to work on sewage treatment sites. - Full Driving License preferably up to 7.5t.
Desirable: - PASMA qualified. - First aid trained.
