Key Purpose of the Role:
The Maintenance Operative role is varied and challenging and therefore requires someone who is highly organised with a very strong sense of planning, motivated and experienced within the role.
The post-holder will undertake reactive and proactive maintenance - the aim being to keep the hotels up to the high standards required, as well as minimise any room outages in hotels that are largely full.
They will be contact with guests on a regular basis therefore need good communication skills and a friendly likeable manner. Tasks will be set by the Hotel Managers for each site and will be priority based. The individual will be required to closely coordinate and plan all activities in line with the Hotel Managers operational requirements.
Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) may be particularly relevant for this position.
Responsibilities will include:
*Painting and decorating works
*Low level Drain blockage clearance
*General Maintenance
*Liaising with Pest Control/Housekeeping to assist with maintenance related tasks
*Stock control of Maintenance materials and tools
*Lock & Door repairs/programming
*Various testing procedures as required (Emergency lighting, Fire Alarm etc)
*Liaising with and advising contractors on maintenance works as and when required
*Health & Safety checks and records
*General Troubleshooting
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
*Excellent knowledge of plumbing works/systems
*Good Joinery, Painting and Decorating skills
*Good General Maintenance skills
*Computer literacy, Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook
Advantageous Skills
*Mechanical knowledge
*Previous experience in stock control
*Electrical Knowledge
*Hotel Maintenance experience
