Introduction:

Our client is a leading provider of installation and maintenance services of bespoke health equipment and systems to their prestigious client base. They are now looking for a Systems Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be based from the clients site and will cover Staffordshire and the surrounding area carrying out warranty, maintenance and repairs to a range of bespoke equipment.

Although not essential, this position could be suited to candidates leaving the military i.e. Army (REME), Navy (Marine Engineer/Weapons Engineer) or RAF (Avionics Technician) with a strong electrical/electronic background. Responsibilities: - Work as part of the UK-based technical services team providing technical support within the designated regional area. - Ensure that all reactive customer support, installation and evaluation requirements are completed in line with the clients policy / procedure and as directed by the Regional Technician / Team Leader and / or Central Systems Coordinator. - Maximise up-time of machines by performing high quality standard and reactive service work within contracted timescales and deliver a highly focused customer service delivery. - Ensure that all Lean Service initiatives, processes and tools are observed and applied as directed. - Complete any TAMs documentation and input the details onto the SAP/TAM system as and when required in accordance with documented SOPs. Ensuring that all service reports are accurate, timely and replicated on a daily basis. - Assist in the implementation of technical upgrades of equipment and modifications where necessary. - Deputise as requested for the Regional Technician/Team Leader. - Assist the business in the provision of technical support to customers during clinical evaluations. - Oversee and participate in the acceptance and commissioning of new business awards. - Attend regular review meetings with the Regional Technician / Team Leader. - Attend relevant customer / contract meetings as required by the Sales Team. - Visit identified customer sites assessing and documenting customer satisfaction surveys. - Coordinate and assist in the implementation and support of any renal unit IT infrastructure. - Participate in the technical services customer and engineer 24/7 helpline, recording all calls in an accurate and timely manner. - Ensure that field calibration / test equipment is monitored, controlled and reported as directed. - Maintain good working relationships with QC / Regulatory Affairs and to liaise effectively with them when deviations / problems are encountered. - Ensure that all field service administrative data is accurate and reported as directed. - Review and implement any non-conformity and audit actions that may arise. - Ensure that any relevant contract tender information is accurate and timely. - Ensure that any and all SOPs relative to the role are followed and training is up to date and illustrated via the relevant control matrix. - Provide water treatment technical support. - Attain a high level of knowledge on products and systems within the client’s portfolio. - Achieve service targets to calendar dates as contracted. - Provide sales/nursing with competitive activity information. - Advise/inform Regional Technician Team Leader on availability of service agreements and support sales as required. - Maintain adequate stock of spare parts to maximise repair at first call out completing stock checks as necessary and achieve the required inventory values. Applicant Requirements: - The successful candidate will be educated to HNC/BTEC level in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or hold equivalent experience. - Demonstrable working background of operating as part of a remote team within a fast-paced highly regulated environment. - Strong hands-on working background of working with electro-mechanical systems and devices. - Ability to read and interpret electronic and hydraulic schematic diagrams. - Ensure that product knowledge is kept fully up to date by attending training in the UK and Germany. - Excellent customer service skills. - Sound communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. - Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. - Excellent fault finding skills. - Enjoy problem solving. - Flexible approach to work as the successful candidate will be required to participate in an out of hours callout rota. - Able to work and remain calm under pressure. - Hold full clean driving licence. - IT Literate: MS Office. - Knowledge and experience of the NHS would be beneficial. - Previous renal, medical devices, bio-medical engineering or relevant servicing background would be advantageous.
