We are working with an associate recruitment company who has offices in the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Canada and Ireland.
They currently have a client who is seeking experienced Roofers to work in Auckland, New Zealand.
The positions are permanent.
The client is a busy, reputable business who offers both commercial and residential services. They offer a complete portfolio of roofing for new builds, re-roofing, ongoing maintenance and roof reports.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an experienced Roofer with experience as a Roofer and Membrane Applicator.
Experience with butyl, vinyl or torch - on membranes is preferred.
Your practical experience should be supported by the NZ National Certificate in Roofing or equivalent or you should be prepared to study to gain this qualification.
You must be quality orientated and pride yourself on excellent workmanship.
You must be reliable and self – motivated.
You should have a good knowledge of site safety procedures and practices.
Rates of pay will vary depending on experience (NZD 17 -25 per hour).
Overtime available after 40 hours.
You should be able to work independently and unsupervised and within a team environment.
You will have clear communication skills and must be able to listen closely to instructions and respond effectively.
You must be physically fit and comfortable to work at heights.
You should possess a Drivers Licence.
You must be able to pass drugs and medical tests
Candidates other than from New Zealand must be available to travel on a working holiday visa and have a minimum of 6 months unexpired time on an existing working holiday visa or alternatively able to gain a working holiday visa to New Zealand.
If successful, candidates will have to pay their own costs of getting across to New Zealand i.e. visa £85, flights approx. £800, possibly cheaper and also pay for their own accommodation.
The end client will assist candidates with secure temporary accommodation for the first few weeks after they arrive and will also assist getting bank accounts and tax numbers set up.
