We are working with an associate recruitment company who has offices in the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Canada and Ireland.  Their client is renowned across a number of New Zealand industry sectors mining, forestry, construction, marine and quarrying to name but a few. They have been the Cat machine dealership in New Zealand for over 80 years giving them stability, expertise and well established systems. Their focus on continued growth and development gives them an edge that their staff and customers can benefit from.

They currently have some awesome opportunities in Auckland, New Zealand for qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanics, including in the mining sector. The roles are permanent.

You will play a key part in the on-going maintenance, servicing and repair of a wide range of CAT mobile plant, commercial truck and/or mining maintenance equipment.  Whatever task you are working on your excellent mechanical skills will see you complete each job to a high standard of workmanship.

These roles will give you the chance to work with top of the line Cat equipment, career opportunities that can see you progress into leadership or specialist roles, experience using some of the latest technology available, and skills development through our clients excellent in-house training programmes.

Knowledge and Skills:

You should be an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic with CAT Machinery experience. Your practical experience should be supported by trade qualified with high school diploma or equivalent required and vocational/Technical school certification required.
You should have strong diagnostic skills with a knowledge of electronic diagnostic equipment.
You should have a current HT Drivers Licence.

You should possess good computer skills required.

You should be willing to work required schedule at the specific location or other locations in the area.

You should be capable of working under own initiative and with minimum supervision.

You should be able to keep up to date all mandatory paperwork and progress.

You should be reliable, hardworking, trustworthy and passionate in your work.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished CAT Heavy Diesel Mechanic and at the same time create a new life in New Zealand.

Salaries on offer will vary depending on experience.

Candidates other than from New Zealand must be available to travel on a working holiday visa and have a minimum of 6 months unexpired time on an existing working holiday visa or alternatively able to gain a working holiday visa to New Zealand.
If successful, candidates will have to pay their own costs of getting across to New Zealand i.e.  visa £85, flights approx. £800, possibly cheaper and also pay for their own accommodation.

The end client will assist candidates with secure temporary accommodation for the first few weeks after they arrive and will also assist getting bank accounts and tax numbers set up.
