Location: Rugby
Salary: £28,776
Hours: 37.5 hours / week, Mon-Fri
A Company Buyer is required to ensure that the procurement of materials and services for a global company. The suitable candidate will have a clear focus on obtaining the right quality, the right service at a competitive market price while maintaining lean levels of inventory. The Company Buyer will ensure inventory holding of stock is within budget. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Company Buyer will negotiate long term price agreements, prepare contract terms and conditions and monitor supplier performance in respect of on-time delivery and quality through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Previous knowledge of MRP systems plus CIPS or degree in Business Management is desirable.

Key Tasks:
Negotiate long term price agreements.
Preparation of contract terms and conditions
Monitor supplier performance in respect of on-time delivery and quality, through Key Performance Indicators and Supplier Review Meetings in conjunction with the Quality Department
Develop and manage the supplier base
Benchmarking of costs and suppliers within the market
Conduct commercial audits and support quality audits of potential and existing suppliers.
Contribute to the Purchasing strategy within the Group.
Maximise internal customer service level by ensuring streamlined support services are in place
In addition, the Job Holder may from time to time be required to undertake other reasonable duties in line with the role and responsibilities of the position.
Procure goods and services in line with Company budget highlighting any significant deviation
Ensure purchasing procedures and policies reflect best practice and meet external customer audit requirements
Ensure effective communication of production needs and changing requirements to the supplier base
Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring targets and service levels are met by you and your direct reports
Provide support and guidance as necessary to direct reports to ensure that any difficulties/problems they encounter are resolved satisfactory
Ensuring both you and your direct reports observe the Health & Safety rules and regulations at all times
Performance management of Direct reports both daily and utilising the annual appraisal process

Supplier Monitoring - experience in running a Vendor rating system for on time delivery together with performance management practices (penalties/corrective action).
