Our Client is a fast-growing SME in the radio communications sector with its head office based in North West London and with sites in Cheshire and Heathrow Airport. Its principal areas of business are systems design and installation, sales of equipment, equipment hire, repairs and maintenance and aerial and airtime rental.
They are currently seeking a Telecomms Engineer role to be based at the head office in North West London. The position is home based. The position is permanent.
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will join their expanding team in October and will work on private mobile radio, trunked radio and Axell wireless products.
Knowledge and Skills:
This role will appeal to a Royal Signals Radio Systems Operator (Class 1) or individuals who have worked within the signals environment with equivalent qualifications from the Royal Navy or RAF.
Alternatively you may be an accomplished Telecomms Engineer with a civilian background with sound technical understanding of: VHF, UHF, PMR, PMR446, TETRA, Ground to air, Private Mobile Radio, Digital Radio, Two-way Radio, Trunked, Radio Handsets, Hire, Land Mobile, Cellular, Tracking, Base Stations, Masts, Antennas, RF principles.
In any event, you should have PMR/Trunked Radio and Axell wireless products experience.
You should also have cabling experience.
You will prepare products for customers, including programming the equipment.
You should be flexible and resourceful.
You should be process and procedure driven and have excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
You should have good planning and organisational skills with attention to detail, able to prioritise work and meet services deadlines.
You should live within a decent commutable distance of Heathrow Airport / North West London.
This role would ideally suit someone who is looking to join an expanding and developing company and where they can make a positive contribution in both the shorter and longer terms.
You should be IT / PC literate and have a full UK Drivers Licence.
Depending on qualifications and experience, the basic salary range offered will be between £28,000 – 30,000 per annum. Other benefits include 21 days paid holiday rising to 25 accruing from length of service plus bank and public holidays, life assurance of 4 times basic salary, compulsory pension provision etc.
