We are acting as a second tier recruitment supplier to a UK focussed recruitment consultancy and solutions provider specialising in technology. They work with organisations of all sizes to deliver recruitment solutions that improve and enhance their clients access to the skills and resource they are looking for.

Their client is a leading IT systems, services and products company employing 11,400 people with an annual revenue of £1.7 billion. Its business is in enabling its customers to realise their objectives by exploiting information technology through its integrated product and service portfolio.

This includes consulting, applications, systems integration, managed services and product for customers in the private and public sectors including retail, financial services, telecoms, and government, defence and consumer sectors.

They are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Project Manager to be based at a site in Berkshire. The position is permanent.
The Project Manager`s prime responsibility is to ensure that the project produces the required products, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost.
The Project Manager is also responsible for the project producing a result which is capable of achieving the benefits defined in the Business Case. Your responsibilities will include:- Organisation: Manage the production of the required products and the delivery of the project in partnership with the customer and Business Unit to ensure acceptance, closedown and handover to service.
Planning: Define the project requirements and manage the agreement process of the project requirements and objectives with the Project Board or appointed project assurance role. Operate along our clients working practices ensuring compliance.
Controls & Stages: Produce and co-ordinate materials and baselines during all phases of the project by careful planning and documentation encompassing stages 7 to 9 of the Customer Solution Lifecycle (CSLC). Report to the Project Board through Highlight Reports and stage assessments.
Issue & Risk Management: Manage business and project risks and produce an effective plan and risk assessment so that timescales and project costs are understood and underwritten by all by the parties appropriate to the CSLC stage. Ensure that formal review procedures are used. Manage the risks associated with the deliverables of the project in line with standards.
Quality Management: Agree the technical and quality strategy with appropriate members of the Project Board and ensure that regular quality reviews are established. Establish and maintain the Change Control (CC) and Configuration Management for the deliverables of their project against agreed plans. Identify opportunities to increase revenue and margin alongside managing any changes to the contractual baseline.
Financial Management: Ensure that the impact on the Business Units P&L due to project activities within the scope of the project is clearly visible and that all contingency usage is signed-off by the appropriate governance authority e.g. Project Board. Accountable for managing and tracking the project costs and supporting Business Units in meeting payment milestones.
Finally ensure effective Stakeholder Management.


Knowledge and Skills:

The successful candidate is likely to be an accomplished Infrastructure Project Manager, a Prince 2 Practitioner with an outsourcing background and with hosting projects experience for example data centres, application deployments networks etc.
You will have delivered more than 3 projects with medium to high complexity, but must have experience of at least 2 different types of project or different stages in the project lifecycle.

You will be PRINCE2 certified or associate/certified with APM.

You will have experience in at least three of the following: Programme/project office experience • Consultancy • Transfer projects • Transition projects • Transformation projects • Application development projects • Deployment projects • Research projects.

You will have worked in at least two different market sectors.

You will have current security clearance to SC level or be willing and eligible to undergo the process (requires 5 years permanent residency in the UK).

You will have worked on more than one project at a time.

You will have experience of managing teams.

You will show competence in progressing team`s career/skills reviews and development.

You will have experience of cost reporting for fixed price contracts.
