Introduction:

Our client is a leading supplier of facility services (hard and soft) to the Ministry of Defence and they now have a requirement for a Project Manager based at RAF Linton on Ouse. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the successful candidate will carry out the project management of additional services from conception to completion in accordance with the clients recognised standards of productivity, quality, commercial parameters and compliance with essential health and safety provisions. Candidates meeting the criteria below who have previously served in the Armed Forces (Royal Navy, British Army or Royal Air Force) and those with previously experience working on a Ministry of Defence (MoD) site could be of particular interest.

Responsibilities:

- Control and manage all activities on additional services projects and ensuring that contractors carry out the works to fulfil their obligations within agreed timescales, and in accordance with all statutory and MOD mandatory requirements and all other legislation and standards. - Prepare technical specifications, schedules of work, contract documentation etc. - Monitor and manage the effective delivery of all allocated projects. - Prepare and regularly update project programmes, providing written reports and documentation as required. - Produce and maintain Project Management Plans for those projects allocated to them. - Monitor Direct Service Providers (DSPs) and supply chain performance, service delivery, quality and safe working on site. - Perform audits on completed and in progress works. - Ensure projects are closed out and all certification, warranties etc are obtained and filed appropriately. - Personally carry out periodic site Health and Safety audits. - Ensure all projects within the area are inspected on a frequent basis to check health, safety and performance requirements. - Invite quotations and prices from the approved supply chain; review and evaluate returned prices, liaising with contractors as necessary to ensure that prices are fully compliant with KPIs and within the project costs accepted by the client. - Prepare and update target costs liaising with the in-house commercial team where necessary, and ensuring that the Area Additional Services Manager is kept fully appraised of project costs. - Manage the works to meet funding parameters and commitments and to obtain value for money (VFM). - Liaise closely with site team whilst planning projects to ensure site knowledge and on-going maintenance requirements are fully incorporated in the planning process. - Forge relationships with the Head of Establishments (HoE) with regard to project delivery on the sites within your area. - Liaise closely with end user, site team and client, as necessary, to identify and scope new work projects at the designated establishments. - Attend Infrastructure Community Monthly Meetings (ICMM) and update HoE on progress of all projects.

Applicant Requirements:

Essential: - Educated to HNC level or above in a Building, Civil Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering related discipline (or equivalent experiential experience). - CDM Awareness. - Asbestos Awareness. - IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent. - Experience of managing multiple projects ranging in value up to £1million. - Demonstrable experience of pre-construction project management including the commercial pricing and submission of tender costs. - Ability to manage and supervise staff in the appropriate disciplines. - Experience of managing projects to a high level of quality, commercial compliance and financial return. - Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative. - Excellent communication skills. - Customer focused. - Solving problems and taking decisions. - Managing work and resources to achieve results. - Management of safe system of work. - IT Literate. - Requirement to travel to other sites.

Desirable: - Familiarity with the sites and equipment for which responsible. - Experience of supervisory management in a demanding construction/ property maintenance environment. - Practical experience in construction or property maintenance. - Contract site control.
