Description :
Responsible for the plant equipment and facilities maintenance regime to comply with legislative, Client and Company requirements across all UK Depots.
Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be relevant for this position.
Main Responsibilities:
Manage the maintenance team, ensuring that maintenance is carried out to the documented standard, to advise, guide and offer advice on fault finding. Carry out ad-hoc checks to ensure standards of maintenance are where we expect them to be, identify gaps in competence and develop plans to address the gaps
Key Accountabilities:
*Supervise Maintenance Engineers undertaking maintenance, inspection, and repair of depot plant, including scheduling new tasks in accordance with statutory legislation as applicable
*Undertake 1st line fault finding to identify most appropriate and economic means of rectification
*Undertake fault rectification, preventative maintenance and inspection of plant and facilities, as the need arises and following appropriate training and/or competence assessment
*Check the facilities performance and rectify as applicable
*Carry out site visits to identify any facility asset deterioration and report / repair
*Ensure spares are managed in line with materials required to comply with the agreed maintenance regime
*Using Lean and continuous improvement methodologies, identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency within own area, scoping and delivering a range of continuous improvement projects, ensuring the benefits are captured and shared with all depots
*Recommends solutions and potential resources to implement improvements to environmental health & safety issues/challenges
* Produce risk assessments and job procedures for all activities in line with the agreed maintenance regime
*Maintain all contracted maintenance work records using a maintenance management system
*Maintain the Depot Asset Registers for Plant and Facilities
Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
*Proven plant and facilities maintenance management in an operationally demanding environment
*C&G NVQ Level 4 or BTEC HNC/HND Electrical/Mechanical
*NVQ (A1) Assessor
*Heavy (mobile) plant & Facilities
*Current UK Driving licence
*Managing people and resources
*NEBOSH Health, Safety & Environment
*Ability to schedule tasks and assign resources effectively, within budget
