Description :

Our client is the world`s leading independent manufacturer of DC high voltage power supplies, x-ray generators and Monoblock X-ray sources. Their organization encompasses facilities in the USA, Mexico, Europe, Japan and China devoted to design, production, service and customer support. In addition, they maintain satellite sales offices on several continents, strategically positioned to support our global OEM customers.
Our Client`s European headquarters are located in a 20,000 sq. ft. facility in West Sussex and they are currently seeking a Quality Engineer. The position is permanent.

As the Quality Engineer you will support Production ensuring quality issues are investigated fully and closed out in a timely manner. You will work closely with departments such as Design, Manufacturing, Test and Customer Service to resolve problems and support product and process improvements.

You will visit and liaise with customers following up on issues raised including complaint resolution and ensuring permanent corrective actions are implemented, providing appropriate responses and reports (including 8D/CAPA)
You will work with suppliers to improve quality of supplied materials and reduce variation.
You will use Quality (Kaizen) tools to identify failure trends of products or processes and introduce or instigate corrective and preventive actions.
You will lead and support teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives in all areas of the business.
You will prepare and provide customers with product analysis and reports to demonstrate field reliability and drive improvement.
You will review and respond to customer score cards providing detail of planned improvements as appropriate.
You will carry out analysis using company databases including NCR (Internal failures)/RMA (external failures) and test data using analytical tools including as appropriate Statistical Process Control (SPC) to identify areas for improvement.
You will use problem solving and root cause analysis techniques to improve product and process quality.
Finally you will support quality, environmental and lean/6 Sigma initiatives, and carry out quality and environmental management system audits.

Knowledge and Skills:

You will be an accomplished Quality Engineer, educated ideally to degree level or HNC/HND with relevant experience.
You will have experience of working in a quality role ideally within the electronics industry with experience of power supply manufacturing and high voltage, analogue, digital and system design.
You will be trained on ISO9001 and ISO14001.
You will be Internal Auditor trained.
You will be Lean/6 Sigma qualified (at least green belt level) with experience of implementing Lean/6 Sigma tools and methodologies.
You will have the ability to co-ordinate other departments and external customers/suppliers if necessary to run 8D investigations or DMAIC projects ensuring robust permanent corrective actions are implemented
You will have some knowledge of power supply design and ability to understand and work from schematics and wiring diagrams
You must be able to work under pressure to demanding time scales.
You must be able to follow formal procedures and methodologies in accordance with ISO9001 & ISO14001.
You must have a high level of computer literacy, with a sound understanding of Microsoft Office.
You must have a \"hands on\" approach.
You must be a good team member with the ability to work with personnel at all levels within the Company.
You must be committed to providing outstanding Customer Service, internal and external, with strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
You must be able to assimilating information, and have the ability to be innovate

Our client offers a salary of £30,000 to £38,000 per annum depending upon experience; in addition there are a range of benefits which includes profit share and pension scheme.
