Description :

Our Client is a marketing and print distribution company whose Head Office is based in West Yorkshire. They are now seeking someone with relevant transferable skills and the focus required to manage the effective implementation of a national scale print distribution contract delivering phone directories into residential housing across the UK. The position is offered initially on a 12 month contract.

You will ensure all aspects of information are effectively incorporated into campaign management plans.
You will create relevant location mapping / route mapping / location selections / planning logistics.
You will create comprehensive task lists incorporating the full remit of tasks to be completed.
You will carry out advance research in to identify and resolve issues before they become critical.
You will ensure effective team resources are in place by carrying out advance planning of support team and HO staffing levels for timely job fulfilment.
You will ensure planning / organisation / segmentation / classifications / document filing are in place.
You will ensure health & safety compliance is in place in respect of HO staff training / field staff training / signage / equipment compliance.
You will ensure uniforms are ordered / garment selection / branding / storage / cleaning / returns.
You will ensure staff are briefed regularly and you will provide support for creation of written briefing documents / dispatch / verbal briefing.
You will ensure all staff adhere to the brief by delivering compliance on all aspects of the agreed proposals and of company protocols.
You will exercise effective field management by checking on quality and suitability of field teams, prior to deployment.
You will ensure effective monitoring status of all campaigns and taking measures to comply with company protocols.
You will ensure effective organisation of equipment incorporating selection and preparation of all equipment used during activity implementation.
You will ensure on-going evaluation to ensure positive progression of every campaign being completed.
You will provide assistance and job fulfilment for any campaigns which fall behind agreed schedules.
You will be responsible for fleet maintenance / MOTs / servicing / spare parts / road worthiness / cleanliness.
You will be responsible for a team of Couriers and the organisation of deliveries / tracking of consignments / checking of costs / delivery fulfilment.
You will be responsible for third party haulage companies including the palletisation of stock / organisation of delivery schedules / controlling of costs.
You will ensure that all clients are communicated with in accordance with company protocols.
You will implement accurate activity reporting with timely creation, detailed vetting, intellectual contributions and on time delivery to clients.
Where necessary, you will implement swift and decisive actions to be taken to quickly rectify any failing campaigns.
You will implement effective relationship building by creating opportunities for mutually interested dialogue with clients and the Operations team.
You will attend monthly business planning meetings with the Managing Director to evaluate and optimise team performance.


Finally you will be responsible for the inventory and will carry out regular stock control / stock clearance / recycling / updating / waste management.

Whilst the position is based at our clients Head Office in West Yorkshire, the remit of the role will require trips across the UK to meet up with the teams, to ensure everything is working correctly (e.g: a few days per month on the road).

Knowledge and Skills:

You will be an accomplished Logistics / Distribution manager ideally with experience of print management and distribution.

Experience of working in the home deliveries / express parcels sector would be ideal.

You must have excellent communication and motivational skills someone who can motivate the Distributors to consistently perform.

You should be an excellent team player, logical and analytical.

Experience of managing third party haulage companies is desirable

The starting salary will between £20,000 to £30,000 depending on experience.

Normal working hours are 08.45am - 18.00pm although there may be an occasional requirement of Saturday and Sunday by advance arrangement.

Holiday entitlement is 22 days paid holiday, plus Birthday and all Bank Holidays (31 in total).
