HQ7782 Mobile Calibration Engineer
Location: Working from home covering London (North of the River) up to and including Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk.
Salary: £23,500 + bonus (£29k OTE) + pension + vehicle (Renault Master MWB van) + laptop + phone
Hours of work: 5 day week, from Monday to Friday.
Holidays: 25 days.
A Mobile Calibration Engineer is required to provide On-site Measuring Tool Calibration and Portable Lifting Equipment inspection and load testing. Travelling to and from customers sites in the Calibration Van this roving brief will cover London (North of the River) up to and including Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk (vehicle provided). The suitable candidate will assist in the planning of calibration programmes to enable customers to meet quality and health & safety objectives plus the recording of calibration data both manually and electronically. Working from home in the main however occasional overnight stops may be required. LEEA accredited training or diploma desirable.

Scope: Provision of on-site Measuring Tool Calibration and Portable Lifting Equipment Inspection and Testing.
Typical Work Activities include:
Calibration and repair of Measurement tools in the calibration van workshop
Inspection and Load Testing of Portable Lifting Equipment
On-site sales of new tools and spares
Planning and scheduling of work, liaising with the calibration office
Travelling to and from customers sites in the Calibration van
Assist in the planning of calibration programmes to enable customers to meet quality and health & safety objectives
Recording of calibration data both manually and electronically
Occasional overnight stops when required

Torque Wrenches; Tyre Pressure Gauges; Micrometers/Vernier Calipers; Pressure/Vacuum Gauges; Dial Test Indicators; Feeler Gauges; Dunlop AGO/40 Tracking; Gauges; Dunlop Wheel Balancers; Electrical Multimeters; Electrical Clampmeters; Electrical Insulation; Testers; Digital Thermometers; Paint Weighing Scales; Oil Dispensing Meters
Portable Lifting Equipment:
Trolley Jacks; Transmission Jacks; Axle Stands; Bottle Jacks; Air Jacks; Slings & Chains;
Portapower Pumps and Rams; Wheel Removal Trollies; Commercial Pit Jacks; Jacking Beams; Engine Hoists
Competencies:
Background in engineering
Good numeric skills with an ability to understand tolerances, percentages etc, and work with basic formulae
Able to understand and follow procedures and work instructions, working to specified standards
Knowledge and experience of handling and using mechanical and electrical measurement tools/metering equipment
Familiar with hydraulic/lifting equipment
Knowledge and experience of General Mechanical Lifting Equipment including chains and slings would be desirable.
Excellent planning, scheduling and time management skills
Good communication skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels of responsibility in the workplace
Knowledge of the region`s geography and road network would be a distinct advantage
Experience of using Windows based programmes, Word, Excel etc
Education/Qualifications:
Good level of education ideally with relevant trade qualifications in a related discipline. LEEA accredited training or diploma desirable.
