Introduction:

Our client is a well-established leading specialist training provider, they deliver many key services including consultancy and competency based training for a wide variety of industrial sectors including Oil, Gas and Offshore industries. They now have a requirement for a Senior Electrical Lecturer to be based at their site in Middlesbrough, Teeside. This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Army, REME and has a background within an electrical / HV role. Please note that due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to carry out occasional nationwide and overseas travel therefore candidates wishing to be considered for this role must have a flexible approach to work and travel.

Responsibilities: - Reporting to the Training Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting, without supervision, complete training courses or course modules in an effective manner at the training centre or onsite at clients premises in the UK and overseas. - Lecturing within a classroom environment including the use of audio / visual aids. - Practical demonstration of, and instruction to candidate in the safe and correct operation of various switchgear, transformers. motors, generators, cable systems and test equipment. - Effectively and efficiently conduct tutorials. - Conducting individual candidate assessments by means of written examination papers, verbal questions, practical exercises and the ultimate compilation of assessment reports. - Modification and development of course notes, tutorials and practical exercises. - When required, to undertake quality audits of training courses and their delivery. - Participate in third party accreditation exercises. - When necessary, carry out client training needs analysis and to advise clients of such needs. - When appropriate, provide consultancy and advisory services to clients. - Assist other members of staff in the provision of marketing and sales services including liaising and meeting with clients. - When required to, assist and advise management in the design, procurement and installation of electrical equipment for training purposes. - Develop your own training capabilities across a wide spectrum of high and low voltage topics. - Assist management in the implementation of quality, health, safety and environmental policies for both staff and third parties. - Work onsite within the UK and overseas, which may be for continuous periods up to four to six weeks, and this may occur on more than one occasion per year. - The requirement to physically switch and isolate withdrawable switch trucks. - Drive vehicles on company business, including candidate pick up / drop off service, consistent with their legal ability to do so. - Assist in the maintenance and repair of training equipment and training aids. - Undertake any other duties allocated from time to time by Senior Management. - Work flexibly and assist the Directors in complying with various statutory requirements.

Applicant Requirements: - The successful candidate will ideally hold a relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering. - A strong background of electrical engineering within an industrial environment. - Proven demonstrable experience of operating as a High Voltage Authorised Person. - Ability to communicate effectively across all levels. - Extensive working experience within a high voltage environment. - Logical thinker and innovative in approach. - Strong background within a similar role.
