Our Client is one of the largest training providers in the South East, and currently have over 12,000 students studying full and part time.

Our client is looking for a Children and Young Persons Workforce (Social Care) Assessor. The role is permanent and on a variable hours contract.

Reporting into a Web Based Learning and Commercial Manager, you will recruit and manage students in line with agreed policies and procedures.
You will undertake assessments that are delivered to the standard and within the time frame defined within our clients policies.
You will personally achieve and maintain good or above in assessment observations.
You will identify potential new clients for the NVQ.
You will support the course enrolment process by providing information and guidance and supporting interviews as required.
You will monitor the progress of learners and to liaise with Parents/Employers as necessary and build and maintain industry links.
You will ensure regular reporting systems are followed and the assessment policy is implemented.
You will deliver agreed assessment schedule for each NVQ including embedding Key Skills and Skills for Life.
You will train and assess candidates.
You will keep records of attendance/assessments and achievements.
You will write reports for students, parents and employers.
You will liaise with awarding bodies.
You will maintain data on attendance/retention/achievement/SR’s.
You will contribute to team SARs for SSA.
You will undertake agreed continuous professional development.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Young Persons and Childrens Assessor with a good knowledge of EYFS and experience within Children`s Social Care, ideally, but not essential, with some knowledge and experience of apprenticeship delivery.
You will be working as part of a friendly professional team who achieve high levels of success. You will have an Assessors qualification (A1, D32, TAQA) and at least a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People`s Social Care.
You need to have effective administration skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organisation.
You will need to be customer focused and expected to build links between industry and the college.
You will also need a commitment to quality and continuous improvement whilst working to tight deadlines.
You should possess the professional and/or academic qualifications in the relevant teaching discipline at level 2 or above.

Where no formal qualification exists, you should have a level of competency in English and Mathematics equivalent to that which would be required to attain a Level 2 qualification.

Ideally you will possess a teaching qualification equivalent to DTLLS /Cert Ed/PGCE.

You should have experience of assessing NVQ’s in the vocational sector and experience of training and assessing Learners.
You will be motivated, energetic and committed to Apprenticeships.
You should have experience of liaising with external clients / organisations.
You should have a working knowledge of Key Skills / Skills for Life.
You must be able to provide evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

You must hold a full UK Drivers Licence. Salary will be in a range of £21.31 - £22.58 per hour inclusive of weighting allowance and holiday pay.
