Our client was established in 1970 and has constantly expanded its sphere of operations and today is able to offer a comprehensive one-stop service to industry covering every aspect of freight management.
Part of a much larger Group it enables it to offer its traditionally high quality service over a larger geographic territory by utilising the parent company’s network of operations.
They are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to be based at their depot in Hampshire. The position is permanent.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for opening new business as well as developing existing accounts primarily with manufacturing and wholesale customers selling its services of storage and distribution, groupage, pick and pack, freight forwarding, international and express pallet distribution.
Ideally you will be an accomplished BDM / Sales Manager with a background in Logistics / Pallets / Bulk Transport sales.
You should have excellent geographical local knowledge of Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire etc etc.
A natural confident communicator and negotiator you must understand what it takes to deliver a quality service to business customers and be capable of forging your own sales plans.
You should also possess sound numeracy skills.
Organised and able to handle the organisational and strategic elements of the role as well as the people contact, you will also need to have a driving licence with minimal points.
You should have a good customer service attitude and approach, be results orientated, willing to take ownership for setting and achieving high standards and targets.
You will have excellent inter-personal and relationship building skills supported by excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills.
You will also have excellent presentation skills.
You should have good PC skills.
Basic Salary will be around 25k. In addition there is commission scheme, car and other benefits.
