Our client is part of a much larger group and is a well-respected and renowned integrated remote site services company, offering construction, camp services, catering, management and supply of labour camps for the oil and gas, mining, construction, humanitarian and post conflict sectors.
These are usually in remote locations and often challenging environments, where everything has to be brought to site.
The breadth of capabilities are enormous, the company can contract to supply every conceivable need, from initial build, to power and water infrastructure to postal services and telecoms, medical services, security, cleaning, even pest control.
They are currently seeking a Materials Control Manager / Maximo Operator to be based in Basrah, Southern Iraq. This position is permanent on an open ended contract.
Reporting into the Camp Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all stores principles, material controls, work orders, procedures, guidelines and standards set by our client and the end client are followed and maintained at all times.
You will apply and follow all contractual obligations and our clients policies and procedures.
You will ensure ISO standards and requirements are strictly followed and maintained.
You will ensure personal hygiene standards, uniform code, safe lifting techniques and code of behavior is strictly followed and complied with.
You will follow Health and Safety measures including code of accident prevention.
You will follow FIFO principles at the time of receiving and during normal routine tasks.
You will keep records on the use and/or damage stock or stock handling equipment.
You will monitor all equipment and processes and report problems to your Line Manager.
You will verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
You will guide and training other Material Controllers on the Maximo system
You will keep up and running the Maximo system full-fledged, and will upload work orders and follow preventive maintenance routines.
You will conduct weekly/monthly inventories in the warehouse.
You will follow periodic cleaning and pest control schedules and procedures.
You will establish timings for receipts and issues of items from stores to all departments.
You will perform domestic and international shipping activities.
Finally you will prepare various management information reports daily and monthly.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Materials Controller with a good understanding and experience in using Maximo software.
You should have experience of working in a warehouse / stores environment including experience of all aspects of stock control.
Your practical work experience should ideally be supported by a Degree or other relevant qualification in logistics or supply chain or related subject.
You should have experience in working in remote site life environments.
You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines. The ability to speak Arabic is an advantage.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
You should be physical fit and able to lift heavy goods.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate with experience of Maximo.
The basic salary is paid in USD and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, insurances are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are paid for by our client.
The work rota is 16 weeks on, 3 weeks off. In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive a paid return economy flight per leave rotation. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
