Due to the pending retirement of the current post holder our Client is now seeking a Regional Communications and Paging Engineer to cover the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire area. The role is permanent.
Reporting into the GB Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of existing Minder/Paging System across the region.
Specifically our client is looking for an experienced Communications/IT Engineer; alternatively a less experienced candidate will be considered with a view to training and shadowing the retiring experienced engineer.
Our client is supportive of ex-military personnel and therefore this role will appeal to someone who has served in one of the Technical Corps.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ideally you will be an accomplished Communications and Paging Engineer with Maths and Physics ‘A Levels’. However our client is willing to consider less experienced candidates in which case the starting salary will be adjusted ( see below)
You will have some experience of managing structured cabling; general site working would also be useful.
You will have basic PC and electronics knowledge.
Experience of working in the communications industry would be very beneficial.
You should have some experience working on sites.
You should have a good knowledge of installation and servicing.
You should be highly competent in the use of hand and power tools.
You should have a good working knowledge of all Windows Operating Systems supported by sound IT knowledge and experience.
You should be well versed in the use of Microsoft Office, Access etc.
You should be very familiar with TCP/IP, Ethernet Networks and have experience of database administration using Access/SQL.
You will be well-motivated and have positive attitude matched with a friendly manner.
You should be a team builder and a team player, highly organised, efficient and effective.
You will be a challenger, results driven, flexible and open to new ideas and able to manage challenging situations.
You must have a full UK Drivers Licence.
Salary will be in a range of £22,000 to £28,000 depending on knowledge, skill set and experience. In addition there is a company car and a range of benefits.
Given that this position is to replace a retiring employee, where a candidate does not meet the full set of knowledge and skills requirements, our client will offer the role on the basis of providing additional training and shadowing an experienced Engineer, in which case the starting salary will be in a range of £16,000 to £20,000 per annum.
