Reporting to the General Manager to manage the day to day responsibilities for the transport section and the warehouse functions as well as to provide an effective and efficient service to all customers, both internal and external.

Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position.

Main purpose of the role
*Meet and exceed the required standards of performance and service from the transport section of operations in line with current vehicle laws and regulations for the fleet of vehicles and operators
*Manage the warehouse functions and provide an effective and efficient service to all customers, both internal and external
*Provide a liaison role between various departments and the General Manager on all aspects of the warehouse and transport operations
*Responsible for warehouse staff, drivers and vehicle fleet
*Implement & comply with FORS

Key Responsibilities
*Operational, logistic, warehouse, transportation & stock responsibilities
*Delivery routing & fleet management
*Responsible for ensuring that the transport is run in accordance with the Company operator`s licence licence responsibilities under current legislation and report any infringements to the GM on a regular basis
*Advise the GM and other members of the management team on the implications upon distribution and storage, of business changes and new products
*Accurate planning of daily deliveries and collections utilising an efficient routing/scheduling system
*Safety and security of stock and warehouse
*Budget control for the warehouse and transport operations area
*Complete daily delivery cost analysis reports and feedback to the GM
*Efficient storage and movement of all products throughout the site
*In conjunction with the GM monitor stock damages and loss incurred when delivering and collecting stock items
*Organisation and management of regular stock takes & daily PPI`s
*Accurate checking of inbound deliveries and to place/store stock in designated bin locations.
*Efficient processing of customer returns
*Responsible for the inter-branch deliveries/collections done on our vehicle
*Daily up-keep, maintenance, inspection and cleanliness of vehicles
*Responsible for vehicle hire and associated service level agreements
*Responsible for driver management including induction training, tacho inspections and on-going training, including drivers CPC and certification, supported by the HR Manager as appropriate
*Responsible for presenting a consistently clean and tidy warehouse and transport working area ensuring waste is disposed of in an appropriate manner
*Responsible for undertaking and promoting a proactive approach to the health, safety and welfare of all employees, agency workers, customers and visitors to the site
*Responsible for H&S conformances & requirements in the areas of your remit
*Attend and contribute to team meetings and training sessions

*Computer literate
*Good written English and Numeracy skills
