We are working with an associate recruitment company who has offices in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and Dublin. They currently have a client who is seeking a number of Construction Project Managers to work in New Zealand. Opportunities exist at various levels depending upon your experience, knowledge and skill set.
The work will be on commercial rebuild and residential projects in Christchurch. The projects will be connected with the rebuild of Christchurch city following the earthquake last year. The rebuild of Christchurch city is scheduled to offer employment opportunities for the next 8 to 10 years.
The successful candidate’s will process the construction phase of a project(s) in conjunction with the Project Superintendent.
You will implement, manage and monitor the Company’s safety program.
You will be responsible for effective project administration (including negotiating, awarding subcontracts for scopes of work, resolving issues to meet project goals ...).
You will expedite all materials and equipment deliveries and monitor quality of work on site.
You will manage project budgets and timelines to exceed requirements.
You will maintain an excellent corporate image and ensure customer satisfaction.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an experienced Construction Project Manager ideally with a Degree / Diploma in Construction / Civil Engineering or alternatively with relevant trade qualifications from a recognised trade, training college / school or university.
You must be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in the areas of safety, workforce management, project execution, cost control, quality and administration.
You will have the ability to formulate, write and submit detailed site reports and have proven ability to prioritise incoming works and the ability to manage on-site construction works to the highest standard possible.
You will have excellent knowledge in safety regulations appertaining to the construction industry.
You will have supervisory experience of tradespersons, and the ability to motivate and enforce western work practices and standards.
You will have the ability to motivate your team and be reliable and flexible.
You will have a high level of initiative, problem solving and decision making ability and will be someone who pays attention to the detail and highly organised.
You should possess excellent project management and communication skills in English and ideally one other language, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC literate with MS Office, e mail, the Internet, Auto CAD and Microsoft Project.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Construction Project Manager looking for something different.
Salary will be in a range of between 80, 000 – 150,000 New Zealand Dollars. Typical salaries will be as follows: Residential PM 80-110K NZD • Intermediate PM 70-90k NZD • Experienced PM 90-100k NZD • Senior PM 120-150k NZD.
In addition most positions carry with them the benefit of company car, laptop etc
A relocation package will be available to successful candidates.
