Description :
The Workshop Engineer will achieve a high level of Customer Satisfaction, ensuring all work is carried out in a correct and safe manner and to a high standard.

TRAINING

Equipment specific training will provided, as will some technical training where required to support continued development and technical knowledge. However, it is expected that you should have experience and relevant qualifications suited to this type of role.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a)To ensure all machines are checked and tested with a keen eye to detail and standard of quality. This is a varied role and will cover all aspects of maintenance, service and repair of heavy construction plant.

b)Work as part of a team in ensuring machines are completed to specific work schedules, within specified times and dates.

c)To inform the Workshop Supervisor of any problems that may occur on a daily basis.

d)To carry out any other duties as deemed necessary within the workshop area of responsibility, by the Workshop Supervisor or Depot Manager.

e)To conduct oneself in a courteous, orderly and responsible manner at all times.

f)To operate at all times within the guidelines as laid down in the Health & Safety at Work Act and to adhere to all COSHH regulations.

g)To assist, wherever necessary, to keep the work place in high standard of cleanliness at all times.

ABILITIES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

*Relevant experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy construction plant (or similar), including proven technical competence on diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics and electronics.
*A formal engineering qualification in plant or HGV mechanics.
*Hold a full driving licence and good driving record.
*Work to high standards.
*Ability to work as part of a team and have good communication skills.
*Responsible, reliable, honest, trustworthy and a good timekeeper.
*Co-operative and flexible at all times.
*Possess high house-keeping standards.
*Ability to understand technical literature including service bulletins and parts books

Salary:£27,000 - £30,000 / annum + Benefits
