Description :

We are working with an associate recruitment company who has offices in the UK, New Zealand, Australia and the Philippines.  Their Australian Office has a client who is a designer and manufacturer of corporate apparel primarily for the hospitality industry or any medium to large company wanting a custom design wardrobe and are seeking a Business Development Manager. The position is permanent.
They are focused on delivering a range of corporate apparel products to its existing and expanding
client base whilst continually seeking to identify new and exciting opportunities within several sectors including healthcare, franchises, aged care, and large corporate’s.
This client has earned a reputation for quality and integrity.
The Business Development role is a member of the Sales team.
The position is to target, secure and manage new clients in the strategic market. A sales target of $1 million dollars per year will be in place for this role. The business needs to be for staff of a minimum of 20 and for the uniform to be compulsory.
The incumbent will work closely with other Sales staff, the Designers, Graphics team, Production team and Operations Manager and Pattern Makers to ensure achievement of company goals and outcomes.
Specifically you will prepare a target list in line with strategy.
You will target and report on success and progress of the target list.
You will build relationships with clients to ensure a mutually beneficial experience.
You will achieve a yearly sales target of $1 million dollars in sales per annum.
You will travel to prospective clients and current clients to management relationships and secure the business.
Your target territory is Australia but global clients are also accepted as long as they are confirmed by Management prior to contacting.
You will attend trade fairs and networking organisations to build relationships.
You will adhere to company sales policy.
You will use a range of office software including Office and styleman (internal manufacturing system
to track orders and production.
You will maintain administration and relevant reporting and planning systems.
You will liaise with customers when required to discuss opportunities for improvement.
You will co-ordinate with other departments to meet company outcomes.
You will comply with company policies and procedures.

Knowledge and Skills:

You will be an accomplished Business Development Manager with experience of working in either fashion, corporate apparel sector or associated industries.
Ideally your sales experience should be supported by some form of sales /marketing qualification ideally in the form of a degree or diploma or professional sales qualification.
You should have substantial sales experience and proven success in the creation of new business as well as the management of it.
You will have a total commitment to safety and safe work practices for all stakeholders.
You will have a strong sense of design, fashion and creativity and a commitment to quality product development and service to exceed client expectations.
You will have a total commitment to continuous improvement and process refinement.
You will have excellent inter-personal, communication and relationship building skills.
You will have a high standard of personal presentation appearance and will have excellent presentation skills.
You will have excellent time management and organisation skills.
You will have a current full drivers licence.
You will be IT / PC literate including Microsoft Office suite.
Basic salary will be around 75,000 AUD per annum depending experience. In addition there is a company car.
Candidates must be able to pass drug and medical tests.
If successful, candidates will have to pay their own costs of getting across to Australia and therefore you should have around £2000-3000 to pay for Visa, Flights and initial accommodation etc.
