We are working directly for an associate recruitment and HR consultancy based in Christchurch, New Zealand.
They currently have a client in New Zealand, a medium sized engineering consultancy who is looking for a CAD / BIM Technician with experience in building and structure drafting to join their team. The role is permanent.
This role will see you working closely with the Mechanical Services team while assisting the other areas of the business relating to building services.
You will be involved in the preparation of CAD drawings across a range of areas and projects and responsible for developing and expanding existing technical knowledge and experience to successfully assist in design and documentation of projects.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an experienced CAD / BIM Technician or Engineering/Architectural graduate with a passion for CAD design and looking for a new challenge and to develop your career.
You will have solid theoretical knowledge of drafting and building technology.
You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
You will be able to work well in a team and work effectively to meet deadlines.
You will be able to build and maintain working relationships with clients, this will include being on site and assisting clients in the design and contract monitoring.
You will have a keen eye for detail and understanding the project process and delivery.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC literate with MS Office, e mail, the Internet.
You will have strength and proficiency in using CAD and other drafting software including BIM.
Experience in Revit would be advantageous.
Candidates are expected to fund their own relocation and should therefore have around £2000 – £3000 available to cover flight costs, visa costs and relocation costs etc.
