Our client, a national work based training provider based in Derbyshire are currently looking for a Business Development Advisor. The role is based in the East Midlands area and is home based and has come about due to our clients continued success and further expansion. The position is permanent.
Reporting into the Business Development Manager, the successful candidate will identify and engage
employers looking to employ apprentices, up-skill their existing staff and recruit new employees
eligible to enrol onto relevant training courses to meet monthly performance targets.
You will meet with the employers to complete a Health & Safety assessment and Business Needs Analysis and secure the business.
Specifically you will generate and sustain relationships with a range of employers and to identify their training and business needs in line with the required and relevant Quality Standards.
You will identify areas of business development through market intelligence and develop proposals for the management team to review.
You will complete comprehensive Business Needs Analysis with Employers and monitor these every 3 months.
You will complete Health and Safety assessments with employers engaged.
You will gather and act on employer feedback.
You will participate in marketing and promotional activity, to arrange events to impact on marketing activity.
You will meet employer contribution and full cost income targets.
You will work to targets for funding contracts.
You will support all vocational staff with learner enrolments.
You will comply with company policies and procedures.
You will take part in staff appraisal process.
You will represent the company at local, national and international meetings and events when required.
You will participate in personal professional development following appraisal of individual needs.
You will undertake other tasks as assigned by Line Manager and/or a member of SMT.
You will attend team meetings arranged by your line manager or SMT.
You will promote and monitor Health and Safety, including safeguarding in all aspects of the role and record health and safety issues that may arise.
You will promote and monitor Equality and Diversity in all aspects of the role and record issues that may arise.
From time to time you will be expected to represent our client at external events as requested by the Quality Manager so therefore travel and overnight stays will be a requirement of this role.
Finally you MUST have a valid UK driving licence and be prepared for up to 2000 miles of travel per month and the role may require some overnight stays.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Business Development Advisor ideally with experience in the further education and training sectors and with knowledge of current further education funding methodologies, sector driven initiatives and current thinking and current government initiatives.
You should be used to working in a target driven environment and have a proven track record of meeting monthly targets.
You should have excellent communication, negotiating, influencing and presentation skills.
You should have previous experience of working in a sales environment over the telephone and face to face.
You should be PC literate.
You MUST have a valid UK driving licence and be prepared for up to 2000 miles of travel per month and the role may require some overnight stays.
Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and provide at least 2 referees.
Basic salary will be in a range of £18,000 - £23,000 depending on experience. In addition there is a Company Car, fuel card, Westfield contributory health scheme, 28 days holiday entitlement plus bank and public holidays, mobile phone and a laptop.
