We are working with an associate recruitment company who has offices in the UK, New Zealand, Australia and Ireland. Their New Zealand Office has a construction company client who is based in Auckland and is seeking a Structural Engineer. The position is permanent.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Structural Engineer graduate.
To cope with increased demand in the Auckland construction market our clients now wants to add another top engineer to their team.
You will be guaranteed a first rate environment from which you can develop your skills and experience and also get exposure to a real varied selection of projects including residential, work within the education markets and also industrial construction projects and some healthcare schemes.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be a Structural Engineer graduate with good industry experience.
Your practical experience should be supported by a qualification in Structural Engineering or in a related engineering discipline.
You must have commercial construction sector experience.
You should have some experience in earthquake seismic standards.
In seeking applications our client is looking for Structural Engineers that have gained that solid base of experience, who can demonstrate good technical skills, all round computer systems knowledge and strong attention to detail.
You should have knowledge and understanding of new build and repair projects.
You should have experience of strengthening projects.
You should have the ability to work with a team and share knowledge across a range of different project types.
You will have excellent inter personal skills, in order to promote the company’s core values and culture.
You will have a high level of initiative, problem solving and will be someone who pays attention to the detail and highly organised.
You will have excellent time management, analytical skills and organisation skills.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC literate with MS Office, e mail, the Internet.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Structural Engineer looking for something different.
There is a preference for New Zealand experience, but our client welcomes interest from international applicants looking to make New Zealand their home.
Candidates should show commitment of plans to relocate to New Zealand, for example they should have started the immigration process or to have plans of being in New Zealand for face to face meetings.
Basic salary will be in a range of between 60,000 –90,000 NZD per annum depending experience.
Candidates must be able to pass drug and medical tests.
If successful, candidates will have to pay their own costs of getting across to New Zealand i.e. Visa £85, flights approx. £800, possibly cheaper and also pay for their own accommodation.
