Description :

Our Client is a global network operating in over 20 countries and regions with bases in 54 locations throughout the world.  They are a wholly owned subsidiary of a Japanese company.
Based on over 40 years of experience they provide product procurement, distribution and logistics services to their clients through their global operation.
The headquarters of the European region, operates from its offices in Wiltshire and has branches in Italy, Germany and Turkey.  The company turns over around £400m per year and is a key part of the supply chain for their parent company and global manufacturing activities.
They specialise in the procurement of raw materials including light metals, steel, plastics and resin; procurement and Just in Time supply of parts for manufacturing; tools, dies and machinery for production; as well as the provision of engineering services including CE Marking to support global suppliers into the EU region.
Through their corporate philosophy they are dedicated to exceeding global customer expectations through creative and effective commercial activities using established methods such as Total Quality Management (TQM). 
They are seeking two Supply Chain Section Leaders to be based at their UK headquarters in Wiltshire. The roles are permanent.
The Parts Import team are responsible for the Import and Distribution of components and sub-assemblies, sourced globally and consumed by our clients Manufacturing Operations (including Tier 1, 2 and 3 suppliers) in the EU Region.
Reporting into the Group Manager for Import Parts, you will be supervising the operation of a section (typically 6 associates) and supporting the Group Manager in achieving business targets.
You will be responsible for the operational performance and delivery of the section, and also for leading activities relating to new and repeat business, and developing strong relationships with both customers and suppliers.
Furthering the development of your team you will focus on individual performance and support requirements.
Specifically you will lead the section on a daily basis, supervising and developing personnel in order to achieve high standards in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Management, Safety and Environment with clear and continuous improvement plans in place to ensure achievements via TQM methodology.
You will achieve set targets and objectives for yourself and that of your team.
You will develop and improve customer service, based on our clients initiative and customer feedback, to offer best possible service to customers while managing associated risks accordingly.
You will develop ideas and future strategies to improve operating efficiency and business performance.
You will authorise business transactions, customer quotations, purchase orders and invoices within company deadlines ensuring compliance to relevant company and legal requirements.
Finally you will act as a representative for our client to develop the relationship with key departments from our clients manufacturing division, with a goal to expand and promote our business.

Knowledge and Skills:

You will be a results-focussed people manager with a demonstrable track record of systematic problem-solving by development and implementation of  innovative solutions in a fast paced, high volume environment, and will be experienced in delivering continuous improvement using quality management tools such as TQM, PDCA and 5 Why.
You will ideally have experience within the automotive industry directly or within the manufacturing supply chain or similar supported by a working knowledge and experience within purchasing/logistics/freight-forwarding.
You will have excellent supervisory and people management skills and experience (team management).
You will have a demonstrable track record in continuous improvement and problem-solving.
You should have good knowledge and understanding of budget setting and control.
You will have excellent negotiation, communication and decision making skills, supported by excellent presentation and project management skills.
Having a CIPS or similar qualification would be an advantage in this position.
You must have a full UK Drivers Licence and be flexible to travel on company business.
Salary will be in a range of £30k - £34k depending on your experience supported by a range of excellent benefits which  include a defined Contribution Pension Scheme (with generous contributions from our client)  including life insurance cover, 25 days annual holiday (plus statutory bank holidays) and a Child care voucher scheme.
