The main responsibility of the role is to attend service calls as and when directed by the service office, to carry out comprehensive repairs effectively and efficiently in a competent manner with due regard to service quality and safety, thus maintaining the reputation for quality, superior service.
To maintain and repair laundry equipment on site as directed by the service office.
To effect comprehensive, competent and safe repairs to customer and company satisfaction, aiming to fix the cause of the fault not just the fault itself.
Clean equipment and the immediate vicinity of the machine after completion of site work, leaving the site clean and tidy. Remove/dispose all packaging and parts changed.
To take ownership of customer related problems and take whatever reasonable, timely action is required to ensure that the customer is inconvenienced to the minimum.
Handle on site customer queries in a fair and courteous manner.
To maintain your van stock in good order and condition.
To return warranty parts and parts no longer required on your van, on a regular basis or as required by the Service Office in accordance with the current procedures.
You must be have the ability to interface effectively with customers, other staff and
sub-contractors both face to face and via the telephone.
Health and Safety: demonstrate understanding of legal framework and
safe working, for self and others
Demonstrate ability to safely operate electrical test equipment for fault-
finding, wiring diagrams and preferably gas-safe accreditation.
Electrical Engineer/Technician to City and Guilds accreditation
or ONC/HNC equivalent. Plumbing apprenticeship with electrical engineering
training/interface.
Flexibility: both in terms of the job and associated hours & be able and prepared to work flexibly to get the job done. Undertake weekend work on a one in four rota and additional overtime subject to the needs of the business.
