Our Client is a subsidiary of a leading global provider of design, engineering, program management, construction management, and operations and maintenance support. They provide facilities management support to the International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai, Egypt.
They are currently seeking a Corrective Maintenance Supervisor with an electrical bias to be based at the North Camp located in the North of the Sinai close to the Mediterranean coast. This is an 18 month contract position initially and then renewable for an additional 18 months.
Reporting into the Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance operations and will supervise a multi-discipline project maintenance team consisting of HVAC, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, Welding and Painting trades.
You will ensure the work and maintenance operations under your responsibilities are carried out in strict accordance with the Company`s current safety rules and operating procedures; also in accordance with standard industry practice, thereby guaranteeing the quality of maintenance operations within your field, carried out on site.
You will also be responsible for guaranteeing a good level of availability of the equipment or special tooling responsible for production.
You will assist the Planning Team by giving any technical support for the preparation of the jobs in your discipline.
You will report daily directly to your designated Supervisor/Manager.
You will ensure that the Company, Customer and Site Regulations and Policies are adhered to and respected, as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during performance of maintenance operations placed under your responsibility.
You will monitor and maintain equipment and special tooling placed under your responsibility to include upkeep of Company/Site vehicles.
You will ensure that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring to the Egyptian workforce occurs properly within your team, and you will actively supervise tasks being performed.
You will train and direct subordinate Egyptian National staff in applicable areas of performance in accordance with Generally Accepted Industry and Professional Standards and the approved On-Job- Training Program.
You will keep a critical eye on the corrective maintenance program and, if needed, suggest and makes improvements.
It is expected that you will be in the field supervising your team`s work a minimum of 85% of the time.
You will ensure that the members of your team have the qualifications and skills required for the task entrusted to them.
You will maintain accurate records of all work accomplished.
You will ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders.
You will order materials for service and repair jobs within framework of work orders.
You will be required 24 hour \"on call\" duties to provide immediate customer support.
You will ensure that all safety instructions are complied with and that all tools, machinery and equipment are correctly maintained and used and that safety gear is worn as appropriate.
Although this role is based primarily at our clients North Camp, you may from time to time be required to work at their South Camp which is based at Sharm El Sheikh in South Sinai.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Maintenance Supervisor with experience of working in a service industry involving commercial and/or residential maintenance.
Your practical experience should be supported by a trade qualification in one of the key trades, preferably in electrical engineering.
For this role you must be a 17th edition certificated Electrician with City & Guilds 2382 - 12 or equivalent. You should also have a recognised LV Electrical Certification from your home country with experience in a variety of LV electrical commercial and residential configurations.
You will be experienced in quality inspections with excellent organization skills and capable of working in fast paced, changing priority work environment.
You will be results oriented and focused on outcome.
Good computer skills are a must; utilizing excel, word, outlook etc.
You must be able to maintain a \"safety & quality first\" attitude.
You should be a confident communicator with the ability to supervise, motivate, coach and train a team of Egyptian nationals. You will be flexible, possess initiative and able to pick things up quickly.
Experience of working in a military environment or for an international facilities management services provider and other similar organisations would be ideal, as would experience of working in remote sites or in other arduous environments.
