An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Engineer (s) who is qualified to ONC level or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering. The Facilities Engineer (s) must be able to work a shift pattern of 4 on and 4 off.
The Facilities Engineer (s) is responsible for managing the infrastructure within the Data Centre in conjunction with the Facilities Manager. You will ensure optimum performance and longevity of critical plant by implementing and supervising the Planned Preventative Maintenance Programme and through regular testing. The Facilities Engineer (s) will help to ensure all sites function at their optimum performance and reliability ensuring a `ZERO DOWN TIME` culture.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Be a member of the Manchester Facility Team shift pattern
Implement testing and PPM regime
Supervise specialist contractors - ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with standards and the contractors method statements
React to emergency situations
Housekeeping of technical areas
Identify new technologies and make improvements to the site`s operation
Monitor critical infrastructure and energy usage
Ensure accurate and timely records are kept
Prepare and review of SOPs and EOPs
In the absence of the Facilities Manager assess contractor risk assessments and method statements
Manage Health & Safety on site through implementation of Health & Safety policies and procedures
Liaise with customers to provide technical advice and expertise both during setup and on an ongoing basis
Carry out customer rack and suite builds according to specification
Provide emergency cover for other sites in the Manchester area

Experience
Essential:
ONC/BTEC or equivalent qualification in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering and/or appropriate job related and building services experience.
Knowledge and understanding of UPS systems from a maintenance perspective
Permit to work issue and control
Health and safety trained
Desirable
Experience of working within a large mission critical data centre environment in a supervisory/technical/engineering capacity.
HV trained
H&S training e.g. IOSH
Electrical installation experience
Knowledge of cooling plant operation
