They design, install, finance, monitor and service security solutions with industrial, government, commercial, residential and national account customers. They are currently seeking an Installation and Communications Engineer to cover an area stretching from Birmingham to the Border with Scotland. The role is permanent and would suit someone based in the Lancashire, Yorkshire or Cheshire area.
Reporting to the Installations Manager (North), the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation of our Clients proprietary Minder/Paging System across the region. Our Clients customers include the NHS and The Home Office, therefore you will be required to satisfactorily undergo CRB checks.
You will be required to work onsite and be involved in high level meetings with customers.
Due to the large geographic area covered you should be flexible with regards to your working hours; you should also be prepared for overnight stays away from home on occasion.
You will at times work under some severe time constraints and sometimes need to be creative in our thinking.
You will predominately be involved in the installation of communication systems, but will from time-to-time be required to work with CCTV and Intruder Systems.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Communications/IT Engineer with experience of communications and paging systems (equipment training will be provided by the client).
You will ideally have some experience of CCTV and Intruder systems, additional experience of having worked in the security or communications industries would be very beneficial.
Our client is supportive of ex-military personnel and therefore this role will appeal to someone who has served in the Royal Signals.
In terms of hardware, you should have a good knowledge of system installation and be highly competent in the use of hand and power tools.
You should be very familiar with TCP/IP, Ethernet Networks.
You should have an excellent knowledge of all Windows Operating Systems supported by sound IT knowledge and experience, and be IT/PC literate well versed in MS Office, Access etc.
You should be equally comfortable working in a team or alone, and be highly organised, efficient and effective.
You will be a challenger, results driven, flexible and open to new ideas and able to manage challenging situations.
You should be comfortable working on site, and being involved in high level meetings with customers.
You must be able work under your own initiative and possess the will to get the jobs done.
