Description :
An Operations Manager with excellent leadership and organisational skills is required to contribute towards the strategic and operational success of this busy Branch, with specific responsibility for achieving excellent customer service levels and profitability.
The Operations Manager will be a brand ambassador, taking pride in the branch performance and creating an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Ensure the operations function fully supports the branch, working alongside the respective teams and managers
2.Implement and maintain a hands on, walk the floor leadership technique to ensure the smooth running of the operational function in the branch
3.Monitor and maintain customer service levels against the branch plan
4.Take responsibility for ensuring that all Company vehicles, machinery and equipment meet desired legal requirements
5.Implement efficiencies across the operational teams
6.Lead and coach the stock team to effectively manage stock levels and maintain core stock range
7.Lead, motivate and manage employees to fulfil their maximum potential
8.Support, guide and coach supervisors to take ownership for managing their team, operating within organisational policies, procedures and embedding the Ridgeon Group values
9.Work with the HR Team to develop and maintain the branch people plan to ensure all elements of the people agenda are effective and add value.
10.Contribute to developing the branch business plan in conjunction with the General Manager, taking into consideration budgets and the overall business plan
11.Oversee the Health and Safety compliance including training, accident and incident reporting, audits, housekeeping and liaise with H & S department when necessary to ensure the safety of employees, visitors and contractors at all times
12.Liaise with the Loss Prevention team to maintain measures to minimise trading losses and monitor security procedures.
13.Work closely with the management team to understand competitor activity, market conditions and proactively identify the need for change
14.Develop and manage key relationships (customers, suppliers, other merchant operators) in order to promote branch, regional and group interests
