Our Client is the International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai. As part of its role it maintains two military camps, one in the North close to the Mediterranean coast and the other in the South, in Sharm El Sheikh.
They are currently seeking a PX Store Manager to manage their PX Store at their South Camp located in Sharm El Sheikh. The position is offered on a 2 year contract, renewable.
Reporting into the PX Program Manager, this is a key role managing a Retail (PX) Store whose customers are Armed Forces and civilian personnel of Countries who are participating in the peacekeeping operations in the Sinai.
The primary objective is to ensure the cost effective and efficient running of the PX retail store operation, with the highest skill level, interpersonal skills and attributes applicable and in line with our clients objectives whilst ensuring an excellent service is maintained to its customers.
You will lead and guide your team in the daily operation of the store to achieve the prime objectives as laid down by our client.
You will be responsible for monitoring, implementing and revising of systems and procedures to facilitate retail operations requirements. You will work closely with the PX Program Manager the procurement team and merchandising staff to ensure correct display, merchandising, training on product knowledge, specials, customer service levels are actioned to maximise sales potential.
You will ensure that sales targets established by the PX Program Manager are met, including all related merchandising and sales promotions.
You will assist the PX Program Manager in ordering from AAFES, the Cairo Commissary and local suppliers.
You will work closely with the PX Warehouse Manager on receiving of goods and marking merchandise.
You will advise the PX Program Manager of special customer requests, merchandise trends and store operations.
You will provide continuous staff training to improve customer service and asset protection.
You will promote and supervise the store`s special order program for customers.
You will ensure that timely and accurate PX data is routinely provided to the PX Program Manager and the Finance Office for preparation of monthly accounts and sales analysis.
You will provide the PX Program Manager and the Finance Office with additional data and explanations as required.
You will be responsible for the security of the South Camp PX premises, assets and staff.
Finally you will deputize for the North Camp PX Store Manager during absences as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
To meet this unique challenge, you will ideally be an ambitious retail professional with significant retail experience ideally gained in an international recognised retail / duty free operation.
You will ideally be an accomplished PX Store Manager with experience in customer service, retail sales, purchasing, hands on merchandising, staff supervision, financial reporting, trend analysis, budgeting and inventory control essential.
You should be familiar with retail EPOS and computer based stock and WMS systems and should also have an appreciation of warehouse and logistics operations. (Fujitsu and SAP systems experience preferred).
With outstanding leadership ability and a strong customer focus, you will have the confidence to win credibility and make an immediate contribution.
Experience of working in a military environment or for an international retail services provider and other similar organisations would be ideal, as would experience of working in remote sites or in other arduous environments.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by a tertiary education with a qualification in business administration, marketing or a sales related field.
You should possess excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and ideally can speak some Arabic or Spanish.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions. Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished PX Store Manager looking for something different. Our client is seeking a minimum of 24 months commitment.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
Included in the basic salary is a 20% location allowance payable and also a 7% allowance in lieu of a pension scheme, both of which are tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
A 2 year unaccompanied status contract is offered which includes free accommodation, laundry, local transport, life assurance, health insurance and meals. In addition employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc.
