A leading marquee and events company has a requirement for a Foreman to oversee marquee installations and ensure quality, safety, cost and time targets are met.

The Foreman will lead and manage installation crews, promote best practice in marquee and event installation/de-installation, and care for and protect company assets whether in the yard, in transit or on customer premises.

Applicants need to be aware of the need to be physically fit for this role.  Also, as this is the busiest time of year for the company, applicants must be aware of the need to work longer hours between July and September at which time workload reduces significantly.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

An experienced marquee professional with at least five years’ experience in the industry

At least three years’ experience in a role of Foreman (or equivalent)

Flexible approach to working hours and conditions

Excellent leader and organiser of people, with a focus on creating motivated, energised working environments

Attention to detail and quality in all aspects of the role

Excellent communicator, both within the company and with customers

Problem solver with a proactive, can-do attitude

IT confident (experience using TSS All Hire a bonus)

Full UK driving licence, with trailer licence

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Recruit, train and develop marquee crews whether employed seasonally, via agency or otherwise, ensuring that the company has the quality and quantity of staffing to meet event schedules.

Develop operational processes to set a ‘best in industry’ standard for the installation and de-installation of marquees and associated equipment and services.

Liaise with the Managing Director and other key members of the team to ensure sufficient planning of equipment and staffing to meet customer events.

Ensure the correct equipment and all associated tools are loaded for each event and ensure all items are clean and in good repair.

Liaise with and, where appropriate, co-ordinate the activities of third party suppliers

At customer sites, be the Company representative, providing excellent service and ensuring the job and the crew meet the Company brand values

Ensure all aspects of the operation, at minimum, conform to Health and Safety legislation and at all times promote a healthy, safe and positive working environment. 

Follow Accident Investigation procedures should they be required.

Please note: This is the busiest time of year for the company with occasional long hours required. These will reduce significantly by autumn and until late spring/early summer 2017 when the busiest time of year recommences.
