They are currently seeking a Group Safety Manager (GSM) to be based at their offices in Macedonia. The position is permanent.
Reporting into the Vice President of Quality and Safety department will take ownership
of the Group`s strategy of Safety with full responsibility, accountability and leadership of the design, development, implementation, management, co-ordination, communication and compliance of our clients Safety Program in line with to the Groups over all Q&S vision.
You will provide compliance to the various International Standards (OHSAS, ISO, and Regulatory compliance).
You will be required to deliver innovative and unique business safety plans and to push the boundaries when developing safer environments. A close working relationship with the Business Development and proposal teams on new contracts is essential.
You will liaise with all department Project Managers and Directors to advise of contractual compliance towards safety.
You will lead, develop, implement and manage the Groups OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
You will provide direct guidance to the operational Q&S personnel and support to the VP Q&S and Board level when required on all safety matters.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Health and Safety Manager ideally holding a University Degree/Diploma in Health and Safety or comparable qualifications.
You will also ideally hold Professional Safety Management Qualifications and have held a senior safety leadership position directing or managing multi-faceted HSE programs within large multinational/diverse organizations.
You will have extensive auditing experience with a recognized Lead Auditor qualification.
You will have operational experience in either Oil and Gas, Post Conflict, Military, UN or NGOs and managing client`s expectations.
You will be experienced in OSHAS/ISO Management System development and implementation.
You will possess sound knowledge of all safety facets across a wide ranging area (construction, mechanical, engineering, HAZMAT, general waste, foodservice and service industry).
You will have a natural ability and persuasive manner to effectively work with all levels of the company and effectively manage conflicts when they occur.
You will be able to deliver under pressure and multi task when required.
You will be confident and positive in all aspects and have strong and firm management style with sound leadership skills.
You will be a team player with a \"can do attitude\".
You will have excellent IT and PC skills (SAP and SharePoint knowledge would be an advantage).
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally, you should possess a Drivers Licence and there will be a requirement to travel to a number of countries on a regular basis.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Health and Safety Manager looking for something different.
Salary will be around 54,000 Euros per annum, tax free. Benefits include 20 days` holiday, medical and death in service insurance, a laptop and mobile phone are provided.
