HQ 3968: Chemical Cleaning Technician
Salary: £20,000 + Overtime available on a regular basis
Location: Barking, Essex
A specialist chemical cleaning company is seeking to employ a chemical cleaning technician to assist with lifting, loading, unloading of pipework, hoses and other equipment to facilitate industrial cleaning solutions.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This role requires a commitment to approaching all activity in a professional and safe manner. Duties include:
- Compliance with company and HSE safe systems of work at all times, including use of PPE
- Operating company equipment – pumps, water jetting equipment, hand tools in accordance with company procedures
- Lifting, loading, unloading of pipework, hoses, equipment in accordance with manual handling guidance
- Basic chemical handling including transfer using pumps from container to mix tanks and client systems, always under COSHH regulations, in accordance with Risk assessment
- Working in the Barking, Essex office and on customer sites throughout the UK – this will involve frequent overnight stays, often at short notice
- Interfacing with customers and representing the company on customer sites
- Completion of job record forms including recording of solution strengths, temperatures, compositions, contact times
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Ability to carry out tasks often in confined spaces
- Dependable, reliable nature and able to respond at short notice to customer requirements
- Able to work as an integral part of a small team
- Broad education, chemical handling experience/qualifications a benefit
SALARY
Salary comprises a £16,000 to £20,000 basic depending on qualifications and experience and can be topped up with regular overtime. Salary is to be paid monthly in arrears to a UK bank account under PAYE. Overtime available on a regular basis
HOURS
A 40-hour week with an 8am start between Monday and Friday with weekend work regularly available.
Benefits
Both in-house and external providers will provide training and the Technician will be at all times under the supervision of a company supervisor. A vehicle will be provided for business.
