Our client is an award pub company operating 7 sites in the South East. They are currently seeking a Roving Sous Chef to provide cover across our client`s public houses in Surrey, Kent and East Sussex. The position is permanent.
Our Client is very proud to say that their pubs throughout the group have won a multitude of accolades and awards.
Due to a number of internal changes and promotions, they are looking for a Roving Sous Chef to support their existing pubs and new pub openings.
Naturally, this position involves travel to all of the pubs in the group so the successful candidate will enjoy the buzz of working with different teams.
Our Client is looking for an experienced Sous Chef who, as well as having excellent cooking skills has a passion for good, fresh food, a good head for business and experience in helping to set and achieve GP percentages and wage targets.
For our client it`s all about consistently serving fresh, high quality traditional dishes extremely well in a busy and high volume environment and so you`ll need to have the ability to multi task, plan ahead and keep a cool head.
Contributing to a happy working atmosphere is vital to the successful running of the kitchens and comes high on our agenda and so your influence in creating a friendly and supportive working environment is crucial.

Many of our clients previous `Rovers` are now Head Chefs managing their own kitchens across many of our pubs throughout the group.

Knowledge and Skills:
You should be an accomplished Head Chef or Sous Chef ideally with experience of working in a fresh food kitchen.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by some form of catering qualification.
Alternatively, as our client is supportive to the ex-military community, our client welcomes applications from Chefs at all levels who are either about to leave the Armed Forces or who have trained and served as a Chef in the Armed Forces.
You should have a passion for producing the perfect dish every time.
Previous experience in a similar role requiring a broad food knowledge and precise attention to detail is essential.
You should have worked in a busy kitchen and thrive under pressure.
You must have experience and desire to work with fresh, quality food.
You should possess ambition to continually drive the business forward.
You will be an excellent team player and leader who can respectfully communicate to the team.
You will have a track record of working with and developing strong teams.
You will have good financial understanding and have a track record of controlling costs and stocks.
You will have good knowledge of hygiene and health and safety.
You should possess a lot of stamina/energy to keep up to speed during occasional hectic spells of business.
You should have a desire to aim for high standards.
You should be reliable, hardworking, trustworthy and passionate in your work.
Standard working week is 45 hours working 5 shifts a week.
Basic salary will be around £19,000 - 23,000 per annum plus tips which will be worth around £80 per week. Other benefits include a pension scheme, staff loyalty Scheme after 3 months; Uniform / Chefs Whites and Childcare Vouchers.
Your mileage in the role will be paid at 25 pence per mile.
