They are currently seeking a Warehouse Manager for a new depot operation to be based in Buckinghamshire, close to the M40 motorway. The position is permanent.
Reporting into the Operations Controller who will not be based at the depot the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of the warehouse at the new depot.
Initially this will be a relatively small operation commencing on day one of around 13 vehicles but this will soon increase in size.
Similarly, initially it will be only stocking around 400 product lines with a cross -decking operation with stock being trunked in from our client`s national distribution centre located in the East Midlands.
After a period of time it will become a more fully stocked and will then have a full warehouse team including dayshift and nightshift operations,
As Warehouse Manager you will take responsibility for goods inwards, perpetual inventory and stock replenishment. You will also be responsible initially for the nightshift operation but this will only be for 2 or 3 Pickers until volumes increase.
Specifically, you will plan and control the Goods In operation across a diverse range of physical and systems-supported activities, by the appropriate deployment of manpower and equipment, so as to ensure the timely, and cost-effective completion of allocated work targets, whilst adhering to best Health and Safety practices.
In fulfilling the role, due attention must be paid to ensuring optimal levels of stock are maintained in the warehouse picking and bulk locations, by fully utilising the Voice WMS and communicating efficiently and promptly with colleagues and suppliers, so that the highest levels of customer service and warehouse efficiency are maintained at all times.
You will monitor and record all aspects of stock control, including adhering strictly to the monthly ambient and frozen PI cycle and weekly chilled goods PI cycle.
You will date check ambient short dated lines on a weekly basis and chilled goods on a daily basis.
You will produce `early warning` reports for Purchasing and Sales Departments.
You will monitor all damages and develop ways of working to reduce.
You will salvage where possible and record and destroy if necessary.
You will investigate all incidents of physical stock and system stock discrepancies.
You will ensure all deliveries are accurately booked onto the system.
You will ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and discrepancies logged.
You will record and report upon supplier delivery performance paying specific attention to the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of deliveries received.
You will manage, and report upon, the forklift truck fleet, ensuring compliance with servicing regimes, safety legislation, and company policies, recording costs and variance to budgets.
You will recruit, train, develop, motivate and, when necessary, discipline staff, analysing overall operational data, and individual employee performances.
You will be expected to effectively manage resourcing levels through efficient control of absence/holidays and agree targets and standards which support the achievement of the Company`s objectives.
You will be expected to manage the demands of the operation dealing with problems that may arise in a professional, effective manner whilst ensuring employee communication is regularly monitored.
You will also provide advice and support to working colleagues in an approachable manner along with ensuring employees are aware and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
As in any successful management position, the development and motivation of the team around you is essential, as is the on-going strengthening of customer relationships.
