Set back within landscaped gardens in a secluded part of Southgate, the tranquil environment of the Priory Hospital North London specialises in the treatment of mental health problems including addiction rehabilitation.
Offering calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 50 service users, including separate facilities for up to 18 young people, personalised treatment programmes are delivered by our multidisciplinary team alongside the use of a range of therapies.
We are currently seeking to recruit and OT to join out General Psychiatric team.
We provide clinical interventions for inpatients and Day Care patients predominantly using CBT, on a group and individual basis, for patients presenting with a wide range of mental health problems including depression, anxiety disorders, work-related stress, post-traumatic stress and OCD.
The successful candidate will join our well-established, dedicated and well-integrated multi-disciplinary team in providing high quality therapy services. This position offers the opportunity to work with some of the UK`s leading Consultant Psychiatrists, participating in our in-house continued professional development and regular clinical supervision.
You will have excellent people skills and the ability to enable our patients to form safe and sound therapeutic relationships through group facilitation, individual work, care coordination and patient assessments. It is essential that you currently have, or are working towards accreditation.
You will be part of a small OT team and receive regular supervision from a qualified Occupational Therapist.
You will need to be a qualified Occupational Therapist or near getting your qualification. Your predominant therapeutic modality or preference should be CBT. You must be registered with the appropriate governing bodies for occupational therapy or be in the process of becoming accredited.
You will be organising and running OT groups, conducting OT assessments and offering individual OT sessions. In addition you will be offering one to one supportive therapy sessions, guiding psychology students, aiding with weekly measures and feedback sheets and participating in the service’s activities and supervision group. Duties may change according to the service`s needs.
You will have excellent oral and written communication and organisational skills, and you will be able to convey complex and sensitive information in an empathetic way, sometimes in highly emotive conditions.
