The Dene is renowned for its work with women using a DBT approach to address their care needs.
We work with the most difficult women and support them through their care pathway back into the community. We have a strong care pathway via our medium secure, low secure and our new inpatient service for women with high dependency needs (HDU) and, through Pelham woods, back into the community. We have also devised an award winning risk management tool.
The Dene also provides an acute service for men and women for those who are having a short period of acute illness. The care pathway is provided via their home treatment team or services in the locality linking closely with their established care team.

As a Health Care Worker you will be working within a team that includes a range of professionals. You will work under the supervision of a qualified nurse and will need to have good communication skills, excellent team working skills, be highly self-motivated with a flexible approach, and have some appreciation of mental health problems.
The Dene supports patients with varying needs in its female medium secure, low secure and acute wards, and male acute ward. Set in 11 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside, it has extensive educational, occupational and sporting facilities, including a sports hall, tennis court, swimming pool and gymnasium, along with various communal recreation areas. There`s also a library, a purpose built art room and workshop, and two practice kitchens.
The Dene is renowned for its work in the field of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and schema therapy with women to support them through their care pathway via the secure and acute inpatient service for women with high dependency needs and through to the community via the inpatient rehabilitation service at Pelham Woods in Dorking.
