Permanent Gas Service Engineer - Field Based - Birmingham
Our Client is looking to recruit a Gas Engineer who is motivated and flexible to join their field based team across the Birmingham area. This Gas Engineer will provide engineering services and emergency response to customers within the Birmingham area. As a Gas Engineer, you will provide a first-class service to a varied range of domestic and commercial customers, undertaking a wide variety of tasks such as installation, breakdown repairs, inspection and maintenance of bulk LPG tanks, equipment and pipework to meet customer needs.
This role of Gas Engineer requires participation in a standyby rota to respond to gas emergencies out of normal working hours and can involve extensive travel to meet customer service standards for our largely rural customer base. Therefore, you will need to have a flexible, positive and adaptable approach.
The Gas Engineer role does not include the installation or servicing of gas appliances. If your looking for a change of direction within the gas industry, this is a great opportunity for an Engineer who is confident working on their own initiative on customer sites, and has a willingness to support other team members and colleagues.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Partiicipation in a standby rota to respond to gas emergencies out of normal working hours
Participation in extensive travel to meet customer service standards for our largely rural customer base
Ensuring customer services levels are met always
Analyse performance and identify areas of improvement
Qualifications/Experience
An industry recognised qualification such as Plumbing SNVQ, NVQ or City & Guilds is essential, with current ACS certification preferred.
Whilst previous experience of working with LPG tanks would be ideal, full training and support will be given to the righ individual
A customer focussed individual with experience of delivering great service to gas consumers
Previous hands on gas indusrty experience is essential
Any relevant gas engineering experience would be considered useful and an understanding of LPG and the installation and maintenance of bulk LPG tanks and cyclinders would be a distinct advantage
A full UK driving licence is also essential
Have an in -depth knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards, including Health and Safety awareness
