Description :

Kent House is a 12-bedded Tier 4 low secure hospital for young people aged 12 – 18 years with mental health, behavioural or psychological difficulties, and an OFSTED-registered school which supports the young people with educational attainment.

The service is set in a rural environment with close links and transport to the local community and amenities.

We provide care for the young people admitted to Kent House Hospital in the least restrictive way and we adhere to the values and principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). We are members of the Quality Network for Inpatient Camhs to measure and improve the quality of our care and treatment.

Key duties:

  • Take all possible precautions to safeguard the welfare and safety of staff young people and visitors.
  • Ensure that the boundaries of confidentiality are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that all confidential information about young people, personnel, suppliers etc., is used only in connection with their duties as authorised and ensures that such information is kept secure and out of reach of unauthorised persons.
  • Ensure that any incidents or accidents are reported and recorded in accordance with Kent House Hospital guidelines.
  • To assist  in the completion of audits
  • To assist in the development and delivery of the hospital’s cleaning and domestic schedules.
  • Maintain a working environment that promotes team effort and encourages initiative and innovation in the delivery of patient care.
  • To ensure all documentation is completed
  • To wear correct uniform and PPE’s required for individual tasks.

The post holder:

  • Will maintain high professional standards at all times.
  • Will participate in the development and maintenance of standards within Kent House Hospital

Education, Training and Development

  • Will attend as and when required any statutory and mandatory training.
  • Will attend any other training courses provided for performance development within the context of the role.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Good communication skills

  • Some appreciation of Mental Health problems.

The role includes working weekends and bank holidays as per rota
