Kent House is a 12-bedded Tier 4 low secure hospital for young people aged 12 – 18 years with mental health, behavioural or psychological difficulties, and an OFSTED-registered school which supports the young people with educational attainment.

The service is set in a rural environment with close links and transport to the local community and amenities.

We provide care for the young people admitted to Kent House Hospital in the least restrictive way and we adhere to the values and principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). We are members of the Quality Network for Inpatient CAMHS to measure and improve the quality of our care and treatment.

Main Duties:

  • To assist chefs in their duties.
  • Deputise for the Chef in their absence, by ordering food stock and organise the kitchen brigade in the day to day running of the kitchen operation. Computer skills are require; to access emails and online training.
  • Maintain food and beverage preparation and service to wards, restaurant and special functions, to a high level of quality and quantity
  • Maintain a high level of hygiene in food storage, kitchen and wash-up areas.
  • Maintain good food storage procedures and stock rotation.
  • Set a professional example in work methods, procedures, personal presentation, timekeeping and hygiene.
  • Maintain flexible working hours at all times.
  • To supervise the lunch service in the staff canteen, ensure a constant high quality of service and food.
  • To maintain health and safety at work practices at all times.
