Description :

Ty Catrin is a low secure mental illness and personality disorder service for men and women who require a medium-term placement and recovery-orientated specialist treatment in order to progress on their care pathway towards rehabilitation care.

The facility is split into six wards along with semi-independent flats onsite

The role:

  • To work as an OT as part of an MDT, contributing to clinical discussions re service user needs. Assessing and identifying occupational needs and providing OT interventions on a 1:1 and a group basis. 
  • To participate and facilitate in the training, development and clinical supervision programmes of the department Ty Catrin to ensure a quality service user service provision.
  • To provide occupational therapy assessment and treatment to enable service users to achieve their maximum levels of functional independence and to enhance their sense of wellbeing through engagement in occupation.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/ Degree in OT
  • HCPC registered
  •  Maths and English at Level 2 or above

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Has completed competency framework or equivalent
  • IT literate
  • Ability to implement and evaluate practice
  • Basic knowledge of the principle of clinical governance
  • Understanding of the CPA process
  • Knowledge of current legislation including the MHA, and legislation specific to this
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of issues relating to clinical  specific settings
