The Priory Hospital – Altrincham is part of the Priory Group, Europe’s leading provider of specialist treatment in mental health. The hospital has an established reputation for providing the highest standards of care together with an extensive range of clinical services. The hospital has residential facilities for 50 patients as well as day care and outpatient services.
We are currently seeking to recruit a Staff Grade Ward Doctor to work full time within our adult general psychiatric services.
The post holder will work closely with our Consultant Psychiatrists and our large multi-disciplinary team and be committed to providing quality patient focused care, comprehensive risk assessment and working to the highest standards. The role holder will work alongside the hospital`s senior management team, be involved in the Clinical Governance and audit processes across the hospital and will help to deliver training and provide support for the other Ward Doctors on site. The role holder will experience a wide variety of clinical practice not usually available in the NHS. General Psychiatric experience is essential. The successful candidate will possess an MBBS qualification or equivalent and will be required to maintain full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). The role holder will be able to demonstrate evidence of foundation training and competencies (or equivalent) including experience of working within the field of psychiatry. Experience of working within an acute setting and of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team would be desirable. The role holder will work closely with the unit’s multidisciplinary team to ensure that clients receive a holistic and person-centric treatment programme based on the recovery model.
This position will involve working with our adult patients but we would require some flexibility to provide cover and support for our other inpatient services which includes an ED Adolescent service.
