The efficient, cost-effective and safe operation of the yard encompassing compliance with all legislative, Company requirements. Reports to the Contracts Manager.
We are looking to recruit long term employees only.
Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position.
Key Purpose of the Role
You will oversee all operations within the yard and in-charge of logistics of the company’s fleet.
Maintain a safe system of work within the yard
Maintain the schedule & delivery of all equipment, tools and supplies
Load equipment, tools and materials onto vehicles
Retrieve all equipment, tools and materials and return them to the yard
Prepare parts and equipment for next jobs
To report any defect in vehicles and plant and monitor safety performance
To use the designated Personal Protective Equipment at all times as directed and to maintain it in accordance with the instructions provided
Essential Skills
A good organiser with commercial awareness and an ability to manage a small team
Logistics experience
Approachable and reliable
Able to delegate in an appropriate manner
Resilient leadership skills, articulate and assertive when required
Safety conscious at all times, observant and with good attention to detail
Good client-facing skills, able to interface effectively with people at all levels
Prepared to take responsibility and be held accountable
Good problem-solving skills
Full and current driving licence
Forklift licence (or happy to train for this)
Knowledge of/trained in First Aid
Based on average 50 hours per week Monday – Friday (weekend work on occasion if required)
